Support Research to Give Every Child a Quality Education
For 25 years, the Patrizio Paoletti Foundation has been active in research and the promotion of global health for the well-being of both individuals and society.
PROJECTS
Schools
Around the World
The Patrizio Paoletti Foundation, together with its partners, has always sought to strongly accelerate the learning processes and, over the past 13 years, has carried out more than 30 projects, training over 3,500 teachers and educators through 52 international missions in 12 different countries.
Assisi International School (AIS)
Assisi International School (AIS) is the school established by the Patrizio Paoletti Foundation in the city of Saint Francis in 2009. It welcomes students from 24 months to 14 years, from preschool through lower secondary education, offering an innovative, comprehensive, and enhanced educational pathway.
Teachers
Outreach
Teachers Outreach is a project by the Patrizio Paoletti Foundation and New Life For Children. It is a platform based on Artificial Intelligence designed to train teachers and educators worldwide on the research content of Third Millennium Pedagogy.
THE FIGURES OF EDUCATIONAL POVERTY IN ITALY
(Dati OCSE 2022)
In Italy, due to the pandemic, we have lost 300,000 students over the past 2 years
15,000 children did not complete elementary school, and another 23,000 did not complete middle school
In Italy, 10,000 young people aged 20 to 24 are illiterate
THE FIGURES OF EDUCATIONAL POVERTY WORLDWIDE
(Dati OCSE 2022)
103 million young people worldwide lack basic reading and writing skills
More than 64 million children worldwide do not attend school
If immediate action is not taken, the current generation of students risks losing $21 trillion in lifetime earnings in present value, equivalent to 16% of the current global GDP.
The Patrizio Paoletti Foundation’s Commitment to Supporting Children’s Rights
2000
The Patrizio Paoletti Foundation was established at the dawn of the Third Millennium with the aim of conducting neuroscience research on human learning potential
to promote effective education for all through Third Millennium Pedagogy.
2004
With the Schools Around the World program, the Patrizio Paoletti Foundation began its international activities to support education in low- and middle-income countries. Over the years, Schools Around the World has included the implementation of more than 30 projects, 52 pedagogical training missions, and the training of over 3,500 teachers and educators across 12 nations.
2009
Assisi International School – AIS is launched, a bilingual school that combines the Montessori Method with Third Millennium Pedagogy. An innovative educational model for students aged 24 months to 14 years, it pairs enriched teaching with a focus on continuous teacher training. It was recently selected as a representative institution for central Italy within the EDU National Program of the Italian Youth Association for UNESCO.
2016
At the Patrizio Paoletti Foundation headquarters in Assisi, laboratories for neuroscience research at the RINED Research Institute for Neuroscience, Education, and Didactics were inaugurated. The creation of these labs enhances research on cognition and movement in educational contexts, as well as on the phenomenology of consciousness through the study of meditative practices. The goal is to improve understanding of the mechanisms that
can enhance psychophysical processes, especially in specific populations, support child neurodevelopment, and prevent neurodegeneration.
2017
Envisioning the Future (EF) is a project launched in 2017 to respond to the needs of communities affected by the earthquake in Central Italy. EF is a modular neuro-psychopedagogical training intervention that promotes positive resources and well-being even in conditions of extreme vulnerability, enhancing awareness and resilience for both individuals and communities. Since its inception, Envisioning the Future has reached over 200,000 beneficiaries, particularly children, youth, and families, who have benefited from interventions carried out in four different areas.
2020
Envisioning the Future is implemented with educators from the juvenile justice system in Nisida.
2021
Launch of interventions targeting population groups in Italy experiencing socio-economic and psycho-emotional hardship, aimed at improving learning opportunities and well-being through psycho-socio-educational actions supporting children, adolescents, and families.
2023
Over 350,000 hours of neuro-psychopedagogical research, reaching more than 300,000 children and adolescents
2024
The Patrizio Paoletti Foundation and New Life For Children launched the new Teachers Outreach project, creating a platform based on innovative Artificial Intelligence tools entirely dedicated to training teachers and educators worldwide on the research content of Third Millennium Pedagogy. The goal is to ensure access to quality education, regardless of geographic location, age, or gender, for 1 million teachers by 2030.
PROGRESS IN NEURO-PSYCHOPEDAGOGICAL RESEARCH
1904
Ivan Pavlov – The Birth of Neuroscience
At the beginning of the 20th century, in 1904, the Russian scientist was awarded the Nobel Prize for the discovery of the “conditioned reflex,” initiating a new way of investigating the relationship between the human inner world and the external world.
1954
Paul MacLean – Discovery of the Triune Brain
Between 1949 and 1954, he reconsidered J. Papez’s theory of emotions by integrating evolutionary evaluations, proposing—based on functional and phylogenetic (evolutionary) considerations—a triune brain: reptilian-instinctive, limbic-emotional, and cortical-rational.
1972
Gregory Bateson – The Ecology of Mind
In the book “Steps to an Ecology of Mind,” 1972, Bateson applies cybernetics to the field of ecological anthropology and the concept of homeostasis. By comparing the brain and mind to an ecological system, he highlights the same rules that govern both.
1972
Francisco Varela – The Science of First-Person Experience
Starting in the 1970s, Francisco Varela, together with his colleague Humberto Maturana, developed the concept of the autopoietic system as a network of processes of creation, transformation, and destruction of components that, by interacting with each other, continuously sustain and regenerate the system itself. He promoted the concept of “first-person science,” according to which the researcher must investigate their own consciousness through experimental verification.
1983
Howard Gardner – Theory of Multiple Intelligences
His proposal considers the old notion of intelligence as a single factor measurable through IQ to be unfounded and replaces it with a more dynamic definition, divided into Logical-Mathematical Intelligence, Linguistic Intelligence, Spatial Intelligence, Musical Intelligence, Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence, Interpersonal Intelligence, Intrapersonal Intelligence, Naturalistic Intelligence, and Existential Intelligence.
1984
Michael S. Gazzaniga – The Interpreter
In 1984, Michael S. Gazzaniga published “The Social Brain,” presenting for the first time the idea of the “interpreter,” a region of the left hemisphere responsible for creating coherent explanations for the fragmented nature of experience.
1989
Peter Salovey and John Mayer – The First Definition of Emotional Intelligence
In 1989, Peter Salovey and John Mayer defined this form of intelligence as: “The ability to monitor and manage one’s own and others’ emotions and to use them to guide thought and action.”
