The Foundation is the Italian partner of AIDA, the project that studies new models for the social inclusion of Alzheimer patients

May 5th and 6th the Patrizio Paoletti Foundation in Rome hosted the kick-off meeting of the AIDA project, with collaborating, European organizations from Denmark, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Bulgaria and Slovenia. In AIDA, the cultural, health and digital world form an alliance to support the training of professionals who work with Alzheimer patients. The general objective of the project is to develop a new approach to Alzheimer patients in order to improve their quality of life and of those who assist them, their social relationships, the environment they live in and the services they receive.

The main objectives of the project include:

  • the exchange of good practices and experiences;
  • develop a new methodology and tools for work;
  • create the AIDA space on the HUBS platform.
  • improve the skills of professionals who work with Alzheimer patients
  • promote the social inclusion of Alzheimer patients

The achievement of these objectives will produce the following outcomes:

  • AIDA methodology (learning scenarios, practice/activity worksheets and a toolkit for professionals/educators/workers)
  • Local piloting (a series of meetings with Alzheimer patients and their caretakers in places of cultural heritage. Then they are digitalized in the form of case studies)
  • AIDA HUBS (and virtual platforms to create a network of professionals for the exchange and creation of new contents)

The foundation, leading partner of the project, will coordinate the other organizations for the generation of outcomes. On top of that, the foundation is responsible for the creation of the AIDA methodology, the first result of the project.
