Motor Training Square
The Quadrato Motor Training (QMT) is an individual motor training technique developed by Patrizio Paoletti with the aim of producing an improvement in human cognitive functions related to coordination, attention, and creativity.
The motor training consists of performing specific movements following some basic rules in response to specific verbal instructions. Over 50,000 hours of research conducted by RINED, the Institute for Research in NeuroscienceThe human brain is one of the most complex and fascinating s... More, Education and Didactics of the Patrizio Paoletti Foundation, and by universities worldwide have shown that Quadrato Motor Training improves cognitive functions such as creative thinking, temporal perception, spatial cognition, and information processing ability. These benefits have been observed in the brain at the electrophysiological, structural, functional, and molecular levels. Furthermore, preliminary research suggests that QMT practice may be a useful tool for improving neurodegenerative conditions.
Currently, ongoing research focuses on the effects:
- electrophysiological, neuroanatomical, molecular, and behavioral of QMT
- in healthy children, youth, and elderly
- in populations with neurodevelopmental disorders or neurodegenerative diseases
The main tool used in these studies is electroencephalography (EEG), a non-invasive neuroscientific technique that allows the study of the electrical activity of neurons forming the cerebral cortex and how they interact with each other.
